Mount
Pleasant NOW Development Corporation, is a progressive Community Development
Corporation (CDC) actively executing a communitywide revitalization strategy
for residential and commercial development within the Mount Pleasant neighborhood.
The Mount Pleasant community, on
Cleveland’s East Side, is one of the most populated of Cleveland’s
residential neighborhoods. Originally, a community of homes built in the early
1900’s, Mount Pleasant today reflects a unique mix of residential and
commercial development. Characterized by both low-income and upscale housing,
new shopping plazas, and other expanded choices for dining, personal and business
services, the Mount Pleasant community is well situated to take advantage
of a concentration of resident and business traffic. |

A
center point of Mount Pleasant’s commercial revitalization is the

Pleasant NOW Development Corporation. Through this facility, the primary
tenant, Cuyahoga County houses over 200 employees and serves nearly 4000
people from the surrounding neighborhoods. Located within the “Mount
Pleasant Village District”, this facility is the cornerstone of a
concentration of socially conscious businesses and housing including the
new $6M “Union Court” senior citizens’ apartment complex. |
