This web site has been created to provide information on retail and commercial real estate offerings in Cleveland to potential retailers and/or developers interested in urban retail districts. It is maintained and updated on a regular basis, includes contact information for all spaces listed, and has been recently updated to include in-depth data offered by Team Northeast Ohio (Team NEO).

The new Web portal called Regional Economic Development Information System (REDIS) will assist you in finding complete demographic, consumer, business and workforce information within the one and two mile radii of each centrally located commuity development corporation (CDC) highlighted on this website. THE RETAIL COMMERCIAL SUPPORT INITIATIVE:

Historically, Cleveland was known as a city of neighborhoods, each unique and vibrant. Neighborhoods were proud of their bustling, active shopping districts that attracted people from all over the region. Over the years, however, living patterns changed and now these urban shopping areas are struggling to stay competitive with suburban malls, big box retailers and shopping on the Internet.

Concerned with the decline of vital neighborhood shopping districts in Cleveland, community development corporations (CDCs) started to discuss critical issues surrounding the future of retail activity in urban neighborhoods. CDCs are non-profit, neighborhood-based organizations that build affordable housing, create jobs, renovate storefronts, rehabilitate distressed structures and tackle other challenges that threaten the livability of neighborhoods.

The group of concerned CDCs formed the Retail Commercial Support Initiative (the Initiative), administered under the auspices of the Cleveland Neighborhood Development Coalition. The Initiative, consisting of approximately 40 members, strategically develops tools and resources to implement catalytic programs that create vital neighborhood commercial and retail activity essential to a healthy community.

Over the years, the Initiative has proactively developed many strategies to strengthen the economic health of shopping districts in Cleveland's neighborhoods, such as the development and implementation of the ongoing Cleveland Neighborhood Main Street Initiative, city-wide design charettes, advocacy programs, training seminars, research projects and other activities in support of retail development.
This website furthers the goal of the Initiative to create new tools to help strengthen neighborhoods by increasing the visibility of investment opportunities in Cleveland's varied retail districts. You will find the locations of these opportunities on the Locator Map, the demographics for the neighborhoods featured on individual neighborhood pages, descriptive listings with specifications of available spaces, and contact information. Happy hunting!
